Workshop14 occupies a former architect's studio in the old Nghi Tam weaving village area of Tây Hồ, entered through a traditional wooden gate. Inside, the space is radically pared back, with steel beams, skylights and a careful play of materials and light.
It was founded by architect Hieu Long and industry veteran Cuong Nguyen (formerly of The Haflington), with beverage director Richard McDonough and bar manager Linh Winnie. The cocktails use modernist techniques on local ingredients, prepared in a lab nearby: the launch menu included Barry Galdi (pineapple, Campari and mezcal), Plum Intended (rum, Moc Chau plum and shiso) and an egg-coffee riff, Is One Un Oeuf?, plus thoughtful alcohol-free drinks.
Within months of opening it won the Campari One To Watch Award at Asia's 50 Best Bars 2025 and ranked No. 83 on the 51–100 list. It is a must for cocktail enthusiasts visiting the West Lake area.
