Nê opened in 2017 on Tống Duy Tân, near Hoàn Kiếm Lake, and was one of the first bars to push Hanoi towards modern cocktail culture. It is an intimate room with a rough-edged European feel, and the experience is interactive, with bartenders working closely with guests.
Owner Pham Tien Tiep is behind the signatures, most famously the Pho cocktail, a spice-infused gin drink set alight at the table. Other house drinks include Lockdown!, which mixes tequila with coffee, black tea and cacao. The bar also offers bartender-led tasting flights and has a soft spot for Negronis.
Nê ranked No. 76 on Asia's 50 Best Bars extended list in 2021. Live music adds to the atmosphere some nights, and it is a good late stop after dinner in the Old Quarter.
Bars tweak their hours and menus often, so it's worth a quick check before you head out.
