28 HongKong Street hides behind an unassuming 1960s shophouse facade near Clarke Quay and is often credited with starting Singapore's 'fine drinking' movement. It focuses on artisanal spirits and American-style craft cocktails and remains one of the most-awarded bars in Asia's history.

The current menu, Now & Then, tells the bar's story through its drinks: each section pairs a classic 'Then' cocktail that was a staple when the bar opened with a modern 'Now' creation, highlighting seven fundamental cocktail-making techniques. There is a food menu, and the 28HKS Supper Club runs late. The Urbanlist also notes a DR-INK! collaboration with tattoo artists.

28 HongKong Street was No. 78 on Asia's 50 Best Bars 51–100 list in 2024. It opens nightly from 6pm until late, and reservations are taken through SevenRooms. Expect a dim, buzzy room, ideal for late nights and classic cocktail fans.

Bars tweak their hours and menus often, so it's worth a quick check before you head out.
