Origin Bar – Shangri-La Singapore

Origin Bar sits on the lobby level of the Tower Wing at Shangri-La Singapore on Orange Grove Road, the hotel that has anchored the Tanglin end of Orchard since 1971. Opened alongside Origin Grill at the end of 2017, the room takes its look from the golden age of rail travel, with mahogany, peacock-teal tones and the feel of a grand station bar. It is around 34 seats, so it stays intimate.

Director of beverage Adam Bursik, who previously ran Nutmeg & Clove and The Library, writes a new concept menu roughly every year. The current one, X, has 16 cocktails, each built around what happens when two cultures, memories or rituals meet in one glass; the sake-spiked Respect The Martini arrives tied with a bow. The bar is also known for a deep rum collection, and bar bites come from the neighbouring grill.

Origin re-entered Asia's 50 Best Bars at No. 43 in 2026. It opens daily from 5.30pm to 1am, dress is smart casual, and booking ahead is wise at weekends. A polished choice for hotel-bar fans and a natural start or end to an Orchard evening.
