60ml by Asador

60ml is the speakeasy attached to Asador, the Spanish wood-fire restaurant on Joo Chiat Place. To get in, find the mirrored door at the back of the restaurant, which slides open onto a dim, vintage-styled lounge with moody lighting and Frank Sinatra on the stereo.

The focus is well-made classics: Campari sours, Bellinis, spicy margaritas, Old Fashioneds and Negronis, and the bartenders take off-menu requests. Simple tapas are available if you want something to eat with your drink. The bar works as a pre- or post-dinner retreat for Asador diners, but it is worth a visit in its own right.

The aperitivo menu runs daily until 7.30pm with S$14 cocktails. 60ml is open every day from 5.30pm to midnight, making it one of the more reliable late options in Joo Chiat. Best for couples and small groups exploring the East Coast's growing bar scene.
