Hidden at street level of Shangri-La The Fort in Bonifacio Global City, The Back Room bills itself as The Fort's best-kept secret. The speakeasy theme is taken seriously, from 1920s decor to a bar team dressed in flat caps, waistcoats and flapper dresses, and it entered Asia's 50 Best Bars within months of opening in late 2018.
Prohibition-era inspiration shapes the handcrafted cocktails and the spirits selection. An even more secret drinks lab produces distillates including the bar's own Bee's Knees gin, made with Philippine botanicals such as dalandan, moringa, sampaguita, manzanilla and turmeric. Beverage manager Volkan Ibil's current signatures include the Red C Note, Pints & Giggles and Bibilous-cious.
The Back Room tops Tatler's Best 20 Bars Philippines 2026 list. It opens nightly from 6pm to 2am, dress is smart casual, and bookings go through the hotel. A glamorous choice for date nights.
