The Suckling Pig

The Suckling Pig is a small cocktail bar on Lebuh Noordin from Kelantan-born Adrian Foo, who spent almost a decade at Singapore's Jigger & Pony, latterly as head bartender, before coming home to open his own place in George Town. Disco balls throw glittering light around a laid-back, slightly rebellious room.

The bar describes itself as a classic cocktail bar rooted in Chinese spirits and oriental flavours, and Tatler calls its list one of the most refined in Malaysia. Martinis are a strength: the Dirty Asian Martini combines seaweed-infused gin, aged Shaoxing wine and dry vermouth with an olive stuffed with cream cheese and preserved bean curd, and there is also a shochu martini. Other signatures include the Chinatown Negroni, an Oolong Gin Fizz and a Hot Buttered Absinthe, flame-poured teh tarik style. Spiced pork fat-washed bourbon also makes an appearance.
