The Opposites is the joint project of two Hong Kong bar veterans, Antonio Lai and Samuel Kwok, set below Hilltop Plaza on Hollywood Road. Its philosophy is 'creating unity with opposites', and the menu is built around paired cocktails that show off the founders' contrasting styles.
Lai brings theatrical, technique-driven mixology, while Kwok focuses on classics with an adventurous touch and careful balance, so guests can taste two versions of the same idea side by side. The snack menu borrows from local favourites, with Sichuan sour fish fingers and 'hot waves' fries with typhoon shelter aioli.
The bar ranked No. 80 on Asia's 50 Best Bars 51–100 list in 2025 and climbed to No. 54 in 2026. It is walk-in only and stays open until 2am on Fridays and Saturdays.
