Gokan, on Ice House Street, is the Hong Kong venture of Shingo Gokan, founder of SG Group, created with F&B veterans Russell Stradmoor and Amanda Cheung. The name means 'five senses' in Japanese, and the site was once home to Hong Kong's first ice storage facility, a fitting backdrop for a bar so focused on ice.
The menu sorts cocktails into five flavour profiles, sweet, sour, spicy, bitter and savoury, served on the rocks, as highballs or strained. Signatures include the Wabi-Sabi Paloma with kiwi and wasabi, a Rocket Grasshopper made with SG shochu and Hokkaido milk, and the Watermelon Koffeezz, a gin-fizz style drink of clarified watermelon and light-roast coffee. The izakaya-inspired kitchen offers dishes such as A4 wagyu claypot rice.
Gokan ranked No. 33 on Asia's 50 Best Bars in 2025 and No. 22 in 2026. It opens nightly from 5pm until 2am.
